We’ve had a couple of extra cold snaps this winter, making me ready for spring to get here ASAP.

Check out seven outdoor activities in Huntsville you can look forward to in the coming months.

1. Kayaking at Ditto Landing + Flint River

Kayaking is a hobby I’ve been wanting to pick up for a while now. If you’re in the same boat (see what I did there?), check out two beautiful spots to try kayaking in Huntsville:

2. Hiking at Monte Sano, Blevins Gap + Chapman Mountain

One of the best parts of living in Huntsville is the mix of big city vibes and peaceful outdoor adventures. Just right outside downtown Huntsville, you can find three fantastic hiking experiences.

That means you can hit your favorite coffee shops and restaurants before reaching a natural oasis in ten minutes or less.

3. Cocktails at The View at Burritt on the Mountain

Last year, I wished I had started going to Cocktails at The View sooner in the season. Running April through October, Cocktails at The View is truly one of the most scenic events in Huntsville.

It’s located at Burritt on the Mountain and offers comfortable seating overlooking downtown Huntsville. Wine, beer, snacks and craft cocktails are available for purchase.

4. Stroll through Huntsville Botanical Garden

It’s pretty cool to say that we don’t have to hit the road to watch a baseball game hours away—we have a pro team in our backyard! The Trash Pandas season is about a month away, so make sure to mark your calendar.
