It’s never too cold for some amazing winter hikes in North Alabama

The air is a bit chilly outside this time of year here in North Alabama, but that should not stop you from enjoying the great outdoors–especially since we have so many fabulous nature preserves in and around Huntsville.

Take a look at these guided winter hikes coming up in the area:

Bethel Spring Nature Preserve – Jan. 31

This is a 3-mile hike though one of Madison County’s most scenic preserves, including passing through the beautiful waterfall at the end of Falling Sink Trails.

Hike at Monte Sano’s Oak Park Trail – Feb. 7

This is a relatively short hike (about two miles) through one of Monte Sano’s popular running trails, Oak Park Trail. This runs up the north side of Monte Sano until you get to the northern fork of the Buzzard’s Roost Trail, which features a small waterfall at the wetter times of the year.

Hike at Rainbow Mountain – Feb. 15

Beginning at the Kensington Drive Trailhead, this 2-mile hike follows a beautifully built trail up to the Rainbow Mountain Loop. You’ll get to check out some pretty cool rock formations along the way as well.
