Wait, is it Thursday already? You bet! And that means it is time to solidify your weekend plans. Fortunately, if you’re in Huntsville, you have a ton of cool stuff to choose from over the next few days.

The Orion Amphitheater will be hopping this weekend with two big shows booked — Jack White on Saturday and Black Keys on Sunday. Both should be amazing shows! Check out what’s happening in and around the Rocket City this weekend:

Live Music

There are some big shows in Huntsville this weekend! Here just a handful of the live music events on the schedule:

  • Zoe Burdett: Aug. 26, Sports Page Lounge, 9PM. Check out the tunes of Nrth Alabama singer/songwriter Zoe Burdett!
  • Air Supply: Aug. 27, Mark C. Smith Music Hall, 7:30 PM. One of the top recording artists of the 70s and 80s plays here Saturday night!
  • Jack White: Aug. 27, Orion Amphitheater, 7PM. Jack White is in Huntsville on his “Supply Chain Issues Tour.” 
  • Dawn Osborne Band: Aug. 27, Stovehouse, 7PM. The Dawn Osborne Band is rooted in Jazz, Soul, Folk, Funk, and Rock mixed skillfully into what can only be described as true Americana.
  • Black Keys: Aug. 28, Orion Amphitheater, 7PM. Check out Grammy-winning artists Black Keys Sunday night at the Orion.

Sports & Fitness

While I realize Friday night is full of plenty of high school football action, the rest of the weekend also has some sporting events on the schedule — including college soccer and some fitness classes available:

  • Pure Barre: Aug. 27, BeeZr, 9AM. Great fitness class! Arrive early to grab your spot, and bring a mat, water, and a friend! 
  • Running of the Bulls: Aug. 27, Hampton Cove, 8AM. With all proceeds going toward the Hampton Cove Middle School PTA, this annual race features a 1-mile fun run and a 5K.
  • 1-Day Dart Tournament: Aug. 27, Copper Top Grill, 12PM. Wanna throw some darts and maybe win some money — there’s a $1,000 purse!
  • Annual Rocketman Triathlon: Aug. 28 (registration Aug. 27), Ditto Landing, 7AM. Rocketman is North Alabama’s Premier Olympic Distance Race. It is put on by Team Rocket Tri Club and benefits Huntsville Madison County Rescue Squad.
  • UAH men’s soccer: Aug. 28, Charger Park (UAH), 2PM. Cheer on the UAH Chargers men’s soccer team as they take on North Georgia.

  • Old Thyme Market: Aug. 26, Historic Downtown Madison, 3PM. Old Thyme Market is located in the Garner Street Alley at the corner of Garner Street and Martin Street in the middle of historic downtown Madison.
  • Huntsville Fall Home & Garden Show: Aug. 27-28, Von Braun Center, 10AM Saturday, 12PM Sunday. Get your home ready for fall and check out the latest home decorations and garden goods!
  • 45th HPMS Annual Model Show: Aug. 27, Jaycee Community Building, 9AM. Model enthusiasts — whether it’s planes, cars, trains or armor — need to come to the Huntsville Plastic Modelers Society event Saturday.
  • Huntsville Food Tasting: Aug. 27, MIzz JuJu’s Cafe, 7PM. Come out and enjoy a delicious night of food and drinks prepared by China’s Creations’ ‘Sampling in the City’ and Mizz Juju’s ‘The Taste.’
  • Village of Providence Artisans & Farmers Market: Aug. 27, Village of Providence, 8AM. Founded in 2015, The Providence Market is dedicated to providing the community with hand-made and locally-grown products from local small businesses.
