Job Statement
Performs a variety of unskilled and semi‑skilled manual tasks related to landscaping, grounds maintenance, and general support activities. Maintains vehicles in a clean, organized, and properly stocked condition.
Essential Duties
- Loads, unloads, and carries tools, equipment, and materials.
- Assists in the upkeep and repair of property owned or disturbed by Huntsville Utilities and its crews.
- Supports construction‑related activities, including:
- Forming and pouring concrete
- Building or repairing fences
- Raking and preparing soil for sod
- Sowing grass
- Replacing damaged trees and shrubs
- Places cones in roadways to protect personnel and vehicles; flags traffic as instructed.
- Stocks trucks with water, tools, supplies, and equipment.
- Cleans tools and job sites upon completion of work.
- Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
- Completes other duties as assigned based on skills and abilities.
Job Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- Landscaping, grounds maintenance, and concrete work experience desirable.
- Experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions preferred.

- Primarily outdoor physical work in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs

- Must obtain a CDL within 1 year of hire
- This is a safety‑sensitive position; employees are subject to random drug and alcohol testing
