Job Overview

This full-time, non-exempt role in the Technical Services Department provides front-line technical support for desktop computers, tablets, smartphones, and related technology. The position involves hands-on setup, installation, troubleshooting, and end-user training. Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $24.42 – $30.90
  • Status: Non-exempt (eligible for overtime)

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and support Microsoft Office and other third-party/custom applications
  • Provide ongoing usability support for computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and peripheral devices
  • Build and deploy new computers and smartphones, including imaging and configuration
  • Maintain up-to-date security baselines and software images
  • Configure and test video screens for various applications
  • Provide user training during device deployment
  • Work with vendors to resolve technical hardware/software issues
  • Assist with specifying and ordering computer hardware and software
  • Support procurement team with hardware specification needs
  • Maintain centralized print servers and applications
  • Set up, install, and maintain network equipment
  • Ensure adherence to network security policies
  • Maintain organized and secure IT workspaces
  • Document procedures, processes, and security configurations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Physical and Environmental Demands

Education and Training Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1–2 years of formal education in networking, PC hardware, or Microsoft systems preferred
  • A+, Security+, and Microsoft certifications are a plus

Experience

  • 1–2 years supporting Windows desktop/laptop environments
  • Experience with tablets (iPads/Windows), smartphones, and Active Directory
  • Hardware troubleshooting and component replacement
  • Installing software, patches, and updates on multiple platforms
  • Basic networking, printing, and software issue resolution
  • Experience with WSUS and SCCM preferred
  • VMware experience is a plus
  • Customer service experience (1–2 years minimum)
  • Strong communication skills desired

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
