Labor Day: here’s what’s open + closed in the Huntsville area

Monday is Labor Day, and as such, many businesses and services will be closed.or will have adjusted hours.
Here’s a look at the Labor Day status some of the places here in the Huntsville area:
What’s closed for Labor Day
Being a federal holiday, Labor Day means all federal offices are closed, as well as all stock markets. Here are some of the closures and changes in services in the Huntsville area Monday:
- Federal offices: Closed
- State offices: Closed
- Municipal and county offices: Most are closed
- Banks: Many closed on Monday, check with your branch
- U.S. Post Offices: Post offices are closed, mail will not run. Regular mail delivery and collection will resume Tuesday, July 5.
- Fed Ex: Some services closed, most offices on modified schedule
- UPS: Some services closed, most offices on modified schedule
- Financial markets: Closed
- Huntsville Museum of Art: Closed
- Garbage collection: Residential collection in Huntsville will be delayed one day. Residents should leave carts at the curb until they are collected. In Madison, garbage collection will not occur on Labor Day, with the rest of the week operating on normal schedule.
- Parks & Recreation: All facilities will be closed, except the Brahan Spring Park and Dr. Richard Showers, Sr., splash pads, which will be open from 10AM to 7PM.
- Huntsville Museum of Art: Closed Monday.
- Costco: Closed
