Moving to the Rocket City? You’re not alone. There are thousands of people relocating here every year.

Still, moving to a new city can be tough, especially when it comes to making new friends. Check out these tips to help make some new friends in the Rocket City.

Networking is a great way to get to know the Huntsville community. There are so many opportunities that help you get connected in Huntsville, check them out:

Huntsville Young Professionals

This networking group is designed for young professionals in the Huntsville community, aiming to connect and engage with one another. There is no membership fee required to join the group.

Think of Leadership Greater Huntsville as a crash course in all things Huntsville. Their programs serve everyone, from high school students curious about their community to seasoned professionals looking to sharpen their leadership and management skills.

Newcomers Club of Greater Huntsville

Newcomers Club of Greater Huntsville is a nonprofit organization for women that assists newcomers in acclimating to their new community. The annual membership fee is $45.

Silent Book Club Huntsville

Silent Book Club is for book lovers. To participate, simply bring a book—whether it’s a physical copy or an online version—and show up! There are no fees to join or attend. The Silent Book Club meets five to seven times each month. At the end of each meeting, there’s an optional mingling to meet new friends.

Rocket Westies is a community of West Coast Swing dancers. If you are unsure about dancing, they offer free beginner West Coast Swing lessons on Tuesday nights. Membership is required to attend other dance events.

The Huntsville Area Mountain Bike Riders have a primary mission: to promote land access, preserve trails, and develop new ones while fostering a sense of community. Membership is required, but it benefits the trails we ride and provides numerous discounts and perks.

We Run Downtown Huntsville

We Run Downtown Huntsville is a running group. Participating in the group is completely free, except if you choose to sign up for the 5K or marathon events. Be sure to subscribe to their newsletter to receive updates on when and where the next run will be held.
