Madison Church of Christ addition among new high-dollar building permits

Growth has been the common word among communities in the Huntsville metro. We hear about expansion of schools, housing developments, retail and more. But growth is not just limited to those elements. Our churches are growing too, and with congregation growth comes structural growth.

This past week, 14 new building permits were issued statewide for construction projects exceeding $1 million. Of those, three were for projects in the Huntsville metro–including an expansion project at Madison Church of Christ.

A $7.6 million building permit was issued this past week to Preston Builders for an addition to Madison Church of Christ on 10 acres on the church property.

This will be a two-story, 41,889-square-foot addition to an existing 105,104 square foot church building including:

Classrooms
A multi-purpose area
Storage areas
Kitchen
Bathrooms

The addition will result in the loss of 105 parking spaces.
