Madison PD gets grant from Norfolk Southern

Norfolk Southern’s contribution is part of its Safety First Grant program, which provides funding to first responders and community organizations working to enhance emergency preparedness and public safety across its service areas across the country.
Drones have become a major tool in public safety operations, assisting officers with search and rescue efforts, accident investigations and large-scale event monitoring.
By expanding the program, Madison PD can respond more efficiently to incidents where time, visibility and terrain may limit traditional resources.
“This grant allows us to continue improving how we serve and protect our community. Our drone program has proven to be an invaluable tool for first responders, and this funding helps us strengthen that capability.”
