Getting social at Madison Social — a new spot for healthy refreshments

There’s a new business that’s opened up in Arbor Crossings in Madison, and it’s our new favorite spot for energy teas and healthy shakes.

We sat down with Heather McMurry, owner of Madison Social, and asked her about the company’s origins, inspirations and goals for the future.

Heather, an Arkansas native, comes from a family of entrepreneurs. In fact, you can find 17 other locations across Tennessee, Arkansas, Florida and South Carolina, all with similar products but different store names.

After moving to Alabama in November 2022, Heather, her husband and their two sons decided to take their passion for the product and open a brand new Madison Social — conveniently located off County Line Road in Madison.

You’ll want to try just about everything on the menu

Although there are other locations, Heather says each one makes their drinks a little different than the next. She’s found that one of her greatest motivations is sharing the nutritional value of their products with people who weren’t initially familiar with clean energy and meal replacement.

Everything on the menu is plant-based, sweetened with Stevia and derived from clean energy — green tea and black tea. You can also ask to add in extra ingredients for more protein, fiber, fat reducer, probiotic, collagen or immune booster.

What are customers loving so far?

In the six weeks Madison Social has been open, they’ve already seen a couple flavors become fan-favorites, such as:

  • Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shake
  • Blueberry Cobbler Shake
  • Peanut Butter Pancake Shake
  • Electric Tide Energy Tea
  • Baja Blast Energy Tea (which we hear tastes just like the real thing…but healthier!)
  • Sunny Daze Energy Tea

If you want to try something else, though, feel free to ask the owners what they recommend. You might just get a drink that isn’t on the menu…yet!

Heather and her family have seen a great amount of support from the nearby community of Madison and local women-owned businesses.

“Moving to a new place, not knowing anybody and then opening up a business…you just wonder if you’re going to be received. But, not only have I been received, I’ve been supported and that’s been a huge encouragement.”

Heather McMurry, owner, Madison Social

Heather hopes to cultivate Madison Social as a safe, welcoming environment for work meetings, hangouts for local kids and more. If you’re interested in Madison Social, and want to learn more about what they have to offer, visit the links below or stop by and grab a drink.
