The Marching Maroon & White will appear on the new show, “6 Minutes to Glory: The HBCU Band Experience,” which is a tribute to the distinctive and fascinating culture of Black marching bands.
The AspireTV show features one band per episode. Viewers get an inside look at the band through the eyes of the students, why they chose an HBCU, and the unique experience of being part of an HBCU band.
The episode will premier Saturday, Feb. 17 at 7:30PM and will re-air Sunday, Feb. 18 at 11:30AM and 8:30PM.
AspireTV, which NBA legend and CEO Magic Johnson launched in 2012, is an American pay television channel dedicated to shining the light on the positive images and achievements of Black Americans.
More publicity for the Marching Maroon + White
This appearance on a national television program is not the first time in the last year the Marching Maroon & White has received nationwide attention.
The band led off the famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this past November. AAMU was the only HBCU and school from Alabama to play in the parade this past year.
