Vujee Vegan: a staple in the Huntsville vegan community

Vujee Vegan
Vujee Vegan is a unique spot for amazing plant-based dishes. (vujee_vegan / Facebook)

WIth beginnings as a food truck + a transition to a storefront earlier this year, Vujee Vegan is beloved in the Huntsville community by vegans and meat-eaters alike for their savory + delicious bites. I’m not just saying that, either—I tried the Vujee Buffalo Chick’n Sandwich for our HSV vegan guide last year and I quite literally still dream about it (as a meat eater!).

However, their most-recent accolade is in regards to the warm bowl of goodness we all know and love: chili. Whether you prefer white chicken, turkey or traditional chili, it’s a winter staple for many.

The award

The award Vujee Vegan has received is PETA’s “Souper Vegan” award, which is only presented to 10 restaurants in the US. The award aims to find and honor the best animal-based soups + stews in the nation.

Their take on the dish features plant-based ground “beef” + “cheeze”, kidney + black beans, a house-made spice blend, + a dairy-free sour cream.

Vujee knows that it’s possible to create a delicious + filling meal without the use of animal product, and this achievement from PETA is proof:

“Vujee Vegan has created a delicious chili that’s kind to animals and provides comfort and warmth in each spoonful. Every winner on PETA’s awards list shows how easy it is to make a soup-erb stew or soup that leaves animals in peace and keeps everyone feeling nicely nourished.”
