Meet Huntsville’s newest museum: SIGNALS
Reading time: 2 minutes

It’s not every day that our hometown has an addition as exciting as this one.
Meet SIGNALS: Museum of Information Explosion. A passion project curated and prepared by countless volunteers over the last four years, the museum officially opened its doors to the public on March 1, 2025.
We were one of the lucky community members to attend the ribbon cutting and get a sneak peek at the museum.
Walk through the evolution of communication

The museum details the evolution of technology, from the discovery of electricity to the invention and widespread use of cell phones.
As you progress through the museum, you literally walk through history.
Experience history through sound

There are virtually zero “DO NOT TOUCH” signs in SIGNALS. The museum is brimming with hundreds of devices that weave together a story of communication, and they want you to be a part.
80% of the devices in the museum are fully functional, and the museum encourages patrons to touch, see and listen to the wonders of technology.
Step back in time through interactive displays

The museum has several working displays, including a working ham radio shack and an operational radio tower.
For both the radio expert and the novice, the museum has something for you.
