Meet the interns—get to know the new Content Producers at Hville Blast

Here at Hville Blast, interns do more than grab coffee and take notes—we write, film and edit content everyday for everyone to enjoy on social media, and we write engaging articles (like this one) that put everything happening around Huntsville in one place.

Caroline Chesnut

Caroline is a Literature & Creative writing graduate of Auburn University. She enjoys film, photography and live music. We asked Caroline, “if you could become one animal for a day, what would it be and why?”

“I would probably want to be one of those really, really deep sea fish that have the little lightbulb thing attached, because I want to know what’s going on at the bottom of the ocean.”

Sarah (Ashlyn) Franklin

Ashlyn is in her junior year at Alabama A&M University, majoring in marketing. She enjoys hiking and lattes. We asked her, “if you could only eat three foods for the rest of your life, which would you choose and why?”

“If I could only eat three foods for the rest of my life, I would have to go with pineapple, shrimp and chocolate chip cookies. I’ll have some acidic, savory and sweet foods to last me the rest of my days.”

Mallory Kimbrell

Mallory is a senior digital marketing major at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She loves animals, spending quality time with family and friends and trying different coffee shops. We asked her, “if you could instantly master one skill, what would it be and why?”

“If I could automatically master one skill, I would choose juggling. Even just a basic three ball juggle. I’d choose juggling because it would allow me to master several skills in one. Hand-to-eye coordination, multitasking + juggling itself, of course. Also, I think it would be pretty cool to carry juggling balls in my purse and pull them out at random times in a spontaneous juggle.”

If Mallory looks familiar, it may be because she has been an intern since July 2025! While she has created tons of content across the Hville Blast accounts and website, her favorite piece would have to be about the Sand Mountain Sam tradition.

Nicholas Perkins

Nicholas is a senior at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where he majors in digital marketing. He enjoys learning about World War II, working out and hanging with his friends. We asked him, “beach vacation or mountain vacation?”

“I would rather vacation in the mountains but I don’t think you can go wrong with either choice. There is something very surreal about being in the wilderness like that, a feeling you just don’t get at the beach. Plus, I would rather swim in a lake up in the mountains than the ocean.”
