Memorial Day is coming up, and with a long weekend ahead—set aside to honor those who lost their lives while serving our country—many businesses and services will be closed or delayed this coming Monday.

Local government offices will be closed

Here’s what businesses and services are definitely closed Monday:

  • Federal Offices – Closed
  • State Offices – Closed
  • Municipal Offices – Closed
  • U.S. Post Office – Closed. Mail will not run Monday, but will resume Tuesday
  • Banks – Closed
  • Huntsville Museum of Art – Closed
  • Madison County Courthouse – Closed
  • Madison County Public Libraries – Closed
  • Madison County Senior Centers – Closed
  • Early Works Museums – Closed
  • Costco stores – Closed
  • UPS — Closed
  • FedEx — Closed

Many local businesses will be closed or have holiday hours, so calling ahead would be advised, but for the most part, grocery stores, pharmacies and home improvement stores are open.
