MLK Day in Huntsville—including a Forbes 30 under 30 speaker
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is full of history, and Huntsville’s full of ways to commemorate it this year.

1. UAH Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration Program
UAH’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion hosts an annual celebration for MLK Day, and this year the keynote speaker is Ben O’Keefe, social change activist and Forbes 30 Under 30 award-winning producer.

2. Athens Limestone Martin Luther King Jr. March
This two-part celebration will be at 9AM with a march from the Limestone County Courthouse to the Veterans Museum. At the museum, winners of their essay and art contents will present their work and refreshments will be served.

3. Huntsville’s 7th MLK Chicago Steppin’ Weekend
This all-weekend event is going to be packed with contests, parties, classes, food, live entertainment and prizes.

4. MLK Day of Action
This free and open-to-the-public event is hosted by the Alabama Association for the Arts. There will be dinner as well as a program with community leaders.

5. MLK Day of Service: Foster’s Corner Help Day
If you’re looking to serve in the spirit of MLK Day, join the Travis Manion Foundation and Foster’s Corner of Alabama as they sort donations. Foster’s Corner is a new non-profit organization in East Limestone County that benefits children in the foster care system.
