A new road connecting Highway 72 with Forrest Street in Athens is now open, easing traffic congestion in one the state’s fastest growing cities. Braly Boulevard opened Friday, and aims to make traveling through the city a little easier.
The project began in March and cost about $1.13 million.
What Braly Boulevard means for Athens

Limestone County is now one of the fastest growing counties in the state right now, and with that growth in population comes more development and more traffic. This new road–connecting two major thoroughfares in the community–was built to ease traffic congestion and connect residential and commercial areas to one another.
This will also help emergency vehicles and first responders navigate through the city easier.
