Celebrate National Library Week at the Huntsville area’s amazing libraries

This week — April 7-13 — is National Library Week, and the Huntsville area has some fantastic public libraries for you to visit throughout the week and beyond.

The Huntsville-Madison County Public Library system, the Athens-Limestone County Public Library system and the Decatur Public Library all have multiple events you can attend for National Library Week.

National Library Week in Madison County

The Huntsville-Madison County system of libraries has multiple events happening throughout the week. Here are some of the cool things happening at Madison County libraries:

• April 8: Adult Sewing Class, Madison Public Library, 6PM
• April 9: Storytime with Kristen; North Huntsville Public Library, 10AM
• April 9: Gurley Chess Club; Gurley Public Library, 11AM
• April 9: South Huntsville Science Club; South Huntsville Public Library, 4PM
• April 10: ESL Class; Downtown Public Library, 9:30AM
• April 10: Employment, Rackets & Other Frauds; Downtown Public Library, 2PM

Athens-Limestone County Public Library

The Athens-Limestone County Public Library has several events happening during National Library Week. Here are a few of the happenings over the next few days:

• April 9: Ask a Master Gardener, 9AM
• April 9: Used Book Sale, 10AM-2PM
• April 10: Silver Sneakers Flex Class, 1PM
• April 11: Yoga Class, 12PM
• April 12: Early Childhood Junior Master Gardener, 10:30AM

Decatur Public Library

The Decatur Public Library, located at 504 Cherry St NE, Decatur, AL 35601, has a variety of events happening during National Library Week.

• April 11: Quilting & Demo Class, 10AM-5PM
• April 11: Lego Hour, 4PM
