Huntsville International Airport’s $14 million main concourse renovation is now complete, according to contractor Robins & Morton. The renovations include a new elevator, escalators and more improvements, all part of a master plan to accommodate the increased traffic at HSV.
Here’s what’s up:
What’s new at the Huntsville airport?

The recent concourse renovation includes:
- The addition of a second elevator
- A second set of escalators
- Replacing the existing elevator and escalators
- Two new sets of stairs
Additionally, a $5.7 million expansion and revamp of the mid-concourse restrooms was completed earlier this summer. The project included the addition of a lactation room for nursing moms. A set of family restrooms was completed earlier this year

These project completions follow additional airport upgrades last year, including work to convert an existing airport parking lot into a rental car return lot. A new entrance and two canopies were built, one for the rental car facility and another to cover a walkway for customers.
Work has already begun on new parking facilities at HSV, which will add 1,400 additional parking spaces, and a recent building permit for $14.4 million was issued to Robins & Morton for a new 21,000-square-foot Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Station at HSV.
