New Aldi in Madison among recent high-dollar building permits

A new Aldi grocery store in Madison was issued a building permit this past week, one of multiple high-dollar building permits issued statewide recently.
The store will be the second on Madison, located on Madison Blvd. Here’s what we know:
New Aldi in Madison
One of the priciest building permits issued this past week was a $3.1 million permit for the new Aldi grocery store on Madison Blvd. The lead contractor is listed as Spencer Schimmel.
Here are some more details on the construction:
- The store will be approximately 19,432 square feet in size.
- The store will have 113 parking spaces.
- The site is being designed for the future subdivision of the property into three lots.
- The store is expected to open in 2026
