The new center will be located where Soccer Field 5 currently is, and construction is expected to take two years once architectural plans are finalized.
The main goal of this new facility is giving student-athletes a new-and-improved place to train, compete and host events year-round — but, pool memberships will be available for Madison residents through the Parks and Recreation Department.
“This project represents what’s possible when the City and our school system work together toward a shared goal. Superintendent Terrell (of Madison City Schools) and I have been discussing multiple ways our city and school system can work together to achieve common goals.”
Ranae Bartlett, Mayor of Madison
The city will be hosting a listening session with members of the Madison swimming community later this month before officially meeting with an architect.
