New fire station slated for North Huntsville

The City of Huntsville has purchased land on which it will build a new fire station in North Huntsville. The Huntsville City Council approved the purchase in its July 23 meeting.
The vacant lot of approximately 5.27 acres is located on Blue Spring Road across from Penland Avenue and about two-tenths of a mile south of Mastin Lake Road.
The city has not set a date for the fire station’s construction to start.
