Reading time: 2 minutes

GE Aerospace announced it is investing $1 billion in its U.S. manufacturing sites and suppliers in 2026, which includes $55M at its site in Madison and $100M across Alabama.
Here’s what to know:
GE Aerospace’s $55 million investment

GE’s Huntsville site produces advanced materials that are the building blocks for ceramic matrix composites, which are one-third the weight and can handle up to 500 degrees hotter temperatures than traditional metals.
These parts help provide better performance in narrowbody and widebody commercial aircraft and in military fighter jet and helicopter engines.
GE plans to invest in new and upgraded production equipment and building improvements which will help increase capacity and maintain strong quality as demand grows.
“Pushing the boundaries of aerospace is what Huntsville does, and the materials we make here are giving our customers capabilities that once seemed out of reach. We are all in on U.S. manufacturing, Huntsville and our customers.”
Stephen French, site leader for GE Aerospace Huntsville
During the last three years, GE Aerospace has announced plans to invest more than $93M+ at its Huntsville site.
This facility is producing cutting-edge materials that are literally changing how aircraft are built, and we’re proud Huntsville and Limestone County is at the center of that innovation.”
Bethany Shockney, President & CEO, Limestone County Economic Development Association
