Huntsville airport holds ribbon-cutting for new hangar
Military partner and local firm Science and Engineering Services opened its new 111,000-square-foot hangar at HSV over the weekend, which will expand the government contractor’s aviation capabilities.
The new hangar is located on Wall-Triana Boulevard at the Huntsville airport, and provides enhanced security and is equipped with state-of-the-art fire protection, heating and cooling, among other advantages.
“This building provided us the perfect opportunity to do what we’ve been wanting to do and that our customers have been asking for — bring fixed-wing aircraft operations to Huntsville.”
Ralph Pallotta, CEO of SES LLC
SES LLC’s operational locations encompass more than 1.4 million square feet of integration facilities with more than 100 aircraft in the company’s custody daily and approximately 800 employees.
Signature Aviation opens new terminal at Huntsville airport
Orlando-based Signature Aviation unveiled its new terminal for its private aviation services.
The updated facility adds more than 2,500 square feet of new space for guests, highlighted by a redesigned entrance and ramp expansion to create a true front door experience.
To serve Huntsville’s thriving defense industry, the terminal will also feature a dedicated lounge for military personnel, where they can enjoy a comfortable private space before or after traveling.
The design of the terminal itself was partly inspired by the “Rocket City” theme, mixing elevated amenities and modern design with local flair, including a centerpiece mural paying tribute to the area’s aerospace and aviation roots dedicated by local artist Emma Gilbert.
“Signature Aviation has been an important partner with the Port of Huntsville for more than three decades, and they have been an instrumental partner in contributing to the growth of the Port of Huntsville and especially our air cargo operations. The renovated terminal will certainly add to the positive first and last impressions that leaders in business, government, and the entertainment industry will have when visiting our community.”
Butch Roberts, CEO, Port of Huntsville
