New Huntsville dog park approved for Cabela Drive
Reading time: 1 minute

A two-acre dog park + parking area is in the works on Cabela Drive! The City has approved an engineering design services contract with Mullins LLC to complete this project. The new ‘Dog Spot,’ as the City calls the off-leash doggy play areas, will be the fifth one in Huntsville.
The $16,700 contract includes site surveying, fencing, sidewalks + small-area parking with 5-10 spaces. If you’re on the hunt for a Dog Spot in the meantime, here are the other four parks that you can check out:
- 🐶Downtown Dog Spot
- 🐕Creekwood Park Dog Spot
- 🐩Hampton Cove Dog Spot
- 📍235 Wade Road, near the Hays Nature Preserve
- 🐾Southside Dog Spot
- 📍16159 Chaney Thompson Road, north of Green Cove Road.
Friendly reminder that all City Dog Spots are open for dogs + owners from dawn to one hour after dark. To read the full list of rules, click here!
