The City of Madison celebrated the opening of its new Public Safety Annex in Town Madison this week.
The 37,500-square-foot facility sits on 15 acres dedicated to public safety operations and brings police, fire, emergency management, and IT functions together on a single campus.

This centralized approach strengthens communication, shortens response times, and supports long-term planning as Madison continues to grow.
“The Public Safety Annex serves as a significant investment in community well-being and a clear commitment to Madison’s firefighters, police officers, and residents. By uniting multiple functions in one location, the city advances collaboration, efficiency, and readiness.”
Mayor Ranae Bartlett
Madison Police Chief Johnny Gandy highlighted the annex’s impact on daily police operations and said shared space with the fire department and access to the joint training center further improves coordination and real-world training opportunities for first responders.
Fire Chief Brandy Williams emphasized the importance of Fire Station 4, located within the annex.
“The station adds critical coverage and improves response times while offering two apparatus bays, sleeping quarters for seven firefighters, and dedicated areas for EMT and paramedic training.”

The facility also houses Emergency Management and the Fire Marshal’s Office, strengthening prevention, inspection, and large-scale incident coordination.
