New salon a 'dream hair home' in heart of Huntsville

When you are able to combine your career with something you love, you are developing a recipe for success. And that is exactly what local business owner Nikkie Elliot has done by opening Oak & Mane Hair Co. in Huntsville.

The new salon aims to be a “dream hair home'” for both stylists and clients in the heart of Huntsville.

From California to the Rocket City

Elliott was living in California for several years, but since she has family in Alabama, she visited often, and said that during the COVID-19 pandemic, she and her family made the decision to move to Huntsville to be closer to family.

” Huntsville had the small town feel but big city vibes we wanted. Kind of best of both worlds we would say. Also, making it a great place to bring a clean aesthetic, organic, modern salon to!”

Elliot said her vision for the salon, which opened in February, was to “give stylists the freedom of a flexible schedule, affordable rental rates or higher than standard commission rates.”

Her vision for the space, she said, is “to host charitable events and collaborate with other small business owners.”
