Catch these spring sports events coming to the Rocket City

This spring, in addition to the Huntsville Havoc finishing up their season (hopefully with a playoff run into April), and the Rocket City Trash Pandas starting theirs (April 4), we have several special sports events coming to town.
Baseball, basketball, gymnastics and more are headed our way this spring. Check it out:
College baseball in the Rocket City
Baseball season is about to start for NCAA teams, and locally, we have some quality college baseball and softball being played regularly in the Rocket City.

Rocket City Softball Showcase
The inaugural Rocket City Softball Showcase, a six-day event at Toyota Field, features 13 NCAA programs and 12 local high school programs.
The playing surface at Toyota Field will sport a new configuration from Feb. 19-24, highlighted by four programs from the Southeastern Conference: Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State and Ole Miss.
Rounding out the showcase lineup are local schools in UAH, UNA and Alabama A&M, former Women’s College World Series participant James Madison, Conference USA power Louisiana Tech, rising Southern Conference program at ETSU, regular NCAA Tournament contender Miami (OH) and Division II program North Georgia.

Elevate the Stage Gymnastics Event
Three of the top six gymnastics teams in the country will be at the Von Braun Center Sunday, March 9. Alabama, Cal, Michigan State and UNC will compete in Propst Arena for the Elevate the Stage event, which also includes youth competitions leading up to the collegiate competition.

Catch some spring soccer with the HCFC
Soccer season is coming up, and Huntsville City Football Club recently announced its preseason schedule for 2025, which includes six preseason matches through March 1, with four being played in Huntsville.
Huntsville City FC will host matches against nine-time NAIA national champions Lindsey Wilson College, University of Alabama at Huntsville (NCAA), and Birmingham Legion (USL Championship) at the Loretta Spencer Sports Complex (2151 Jaycee Way, Huntsville, AL 35801) and Chattanooga Red Wolves (USL League One) at Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium.

UAH Lacrosse
Don;t forget that the UAH Chargers men’s and women’s lacrosse teams are about to start their seasons, and these are fun (and free) games to attend.
