New unique independent film cinema now open at Lowe Mill

If you spend a lot of time reviewing movies on Letterboxd and often describe yourself as a ‘cinephile,’ you’ll be pleased to know that the Independent Cinema is officially opening tonight, Oct. 31.
At the Independent, you can count on getting to watch all of your favorite niche indie and foreign films. Plus, you can catch screenings of classics, cult favorites and art house films. Here’s everything you need to know about the opening:
The Independent will open its doors at Lowe Mill tonight, Oct. 31!
For their grand opening, the Independent is hosting a Halloween Marathon. There will be screenings of four secret movies starting at 10PM, plus free coffee to keep you going as you pull this all-nighter.
Don’t miss out: They’ve been dropping hints about which movies will be shown tonight on their social media. The first person who’s present at the marathon and guesses all four films correctly (or is the closest) will win a ‘Movie Survival Kit’ featuring some fun items.

What’s to come
Starting November 1, the Independent will begin regular screenings. You can find titles, showtimes and links to grab tickets for these showings on their website. Here’s what you can expect event-wise following tonight’s marathon:
“We want to start out with our movie screenings—see how that goes—get our footing and get settled, but yeah we plan to do lots of fun stuff. Double features, marathons and collaborations with other businesses as well.”

The cinema currently has a capacity of 70 people, but after the first of next year, the Independent will undergo renovations to install an additional 20 seats.
