New wildlife rescue license plate: How to get the owl tag

The Alabama Wildlife Center’s proposed license plate design is officially a reality, and it should be available soon at your local DMV. The AWC officially gathered the 1,000 sign-ups needed to release the design.
The plate’s design, which features an owl overlooking a wooded background, was unveiled in August 2025, when Alabama Wildlife Center (AWC) informed the public that the design would need 1,000 sign ups before May 1.
