Party on the Green celebrates food, fun + good health

Hey Huntsvillians! This Thursday is a great opportunity to bring the family and enjoy an evening out, featuring a diverse mix of food, fun and fitness at Party on the Green!
The event will take place Thursday, Sept. 29, from 5:30PM to 8:30PM at S.R. Butler Green Park, Campus No. 805, 2620 Clinton Ave. W., Huntsville. Want more details? Well here you go:
A party for the whole family
The no-cost, family-friendly event is hosted by Healthy Huntsville and sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama.
DJ Lashay B will keep the party moving and the crowd on their feet with a mix of current and classic dance hits. Baila Huntsville will lead salsa line dancing and there will be soul line dancing with H-Town. There will also be family and group dance sessions.
In addition, guests can enjoy a wiffle ball home run derby, scavenger hunts for adults and children, lawn games, prizes and more. The party and activities are all free. However, with so many delicious dining options, you’ll probably want to have dinner while you’re there.

Healthy Huntsville hosts several events like Party on the Green throughout the year to promote its mission to get Huntsvillians into a healthy lifestyle.
Led by Mayor Tommy Battle and the City’s Parks & Recreation Department, Healthy Huntsville hosts signature events that include the Mayor’s Bike Ride, held each May, to encourage cycling and promote Bike Safety Month; Fitness in the Park, where citizens can try a different, no-cost fitness class at Big Spring Park each Saturday in May and June; and the six-week “Maintain, Don’t Gain” program over the holidays.
