Pick your pumpkin at these 5 local farms + cool spaces

We are getting closer to October, and if you have driven through Huntsville neighborhoods in the last week or so, you have likely seen that folks are starting to decorate for Halloween.

This means it’s time to pick out your pumpkins! And we have some cool spots to do so, if you are looking to make a day out of your pumpkin-picking experience.

Boyd Family Farm

• What: Head out to Hazel Green and pick out your pumpkin (and while you’re at it, wander around the farm for a while and take in the sights).

Tate Farms

• What: One of North Alabama’s most well-known farms, Tate Farms includes 80+ acres of pick-your-own pumpkin fields.

Hidden Rivers Farm

• What: Hidden Rivers is more than just a great place to get your Halloween pumpkin. It also includes a corn maze, zip line, games and all kinds of family fun.

Punkin’ Pickin’ Extravaganza

• What: Take the train from the North Alabama Railroad Museum to Normal, Alabama, where passengers will hop off the train and walk over to the “pumpkin patch” and youngsters will be able to pick out the pumpkin of their choice.

Down on the Farm Pumpkin Patch

• What: Similar to other pumpkin patches in the area, it features activities that include a corn maze, pumpkin painting, hayrides, a simulated milking cow, a farm animal petting zoo, playground and tons of games for the family.
