Memorial Day is this coming Monday, and while many folks with school-aged kids will be enjoying the first weekend of summer vacation, others of us will at least have a day off work.
However, as we honor those who lost their lives in battle, many businesses and public services will be closed. Here’s a quick guide to what’s open and closed on Memorial Day in the Huntsville area.

- Federal Offices – Closed
- State Offices – Closed
- Municipal Offices – Closed
- U.S. Post Office – Closed. Mail will not run Monday, but will resume Tuesday
- Banks – Closed
- Huntsville Museum of Art – Closed
- Madison County Courthouse – Closed
- Madison County Public Libraries – Closed
- Madison County Senior Centers – Closed
- Early Works Museums – Closed
- Costco stores – Closed
- UPS — Closed
- FedEx — Closed
- Monday trash pickup in Huntsville will resume Tuesday
