The weather we are enjoying right now here in North Alabama is certainly indicative of the coming of fall (although we all know we are likely in for at least another short heat wave before we delve completely into autumn). And when I think of fall, I think of pumpkins and football and Halloween and beautiful fall colors.
So, it’s the latter of that list that I wanted to look into. According to SmokyMountains.com, the peak time for fall foliage here in North Alabama is in November.

SmokyMountains.com says the peak time for fall foliage in North Alabama this year is between November 3 and November 10. By using the Smoky Mountains Interactive Map, you can predict the peak times for fall colors all over the country.
Parts of North Alabama, namely the northeastern corner of the state, will see colors changing first, with some leaves turning gold by mid October.
