Where the pier came from
Thank the James Gordon William Legacy Fund that donated to the pier’s design and construction. Williams is a former employee of the Hays family, and sought to show his appreciation by donating to this project.
“It’s people that make Huntsville special and that is certainly exemplified by the generosity of Mr. Williams. It’s also a testimony to the benevolence of the Hays family as an inspiration for this pier as part of the park the family donated to the city.”
Tommy Battle, Mayor of Huntsville
Attorney Hinson was connected to this project as Williams’ estate manager. She worked on the donation alongside Operation Green Team Foundation and Huntsville Public Works who installed the sidewalk.
