Reading time: 2 minutes

From severe fog to rain, we are having a very interesting weather week here in Huntsville.
North Alabama is gearing up for a round of potentially severe storms Friday afternoon through evening, with a flood risk being warned as early as yesterday.
The situation
Starting Friday afternoon and potentially extending into early Saturday, a storm system bringing heavy rain + storms will make its way into North Alabama, along with a cold front trailing behind.
You can expect to see heavy rainfall, flash floods + higher wind speed on Friday through multiple pop-up thunderstorms across the valley.
The weather will stay relatively temperate, with a high of 64º and a low of 61º, and temperatures continuing to drop through the rest of the weekend. The lowest temperature we’ll see this week is on Saturday, with a high of 63º and a low of 38º.
What to do during severe weather

While there is no threat of this storm becoming tornadic or catastrophic, there are still a few key things to keep in mind as severe weather approaches.
Here are a few of our tips to remember when weather gets severe:
Things to remember
