Since we announced this exciting development back in November, a few things have changed; the development now has an official name — North Village Town Center — and has since been officially approved by an engineering company to begin work on the buildings.

Although we don’t have an exact timeline for when the doors will open, we can expect it will be early 2027.

What’s opening + when

The project, which was announced last month, entails a new shopping district that will be placed at the North Village Town Center, located at the intersection of Memorial Parkway and State Route 255.

The new shopping district will be spearheaded by a brand-new Target, Home Depot and Food City, with around 600,000+ square feet of retail + restaurant space.

Here’s a refresher of what we know we can count on:

  • An Express Oil Change location will also be part of the development and be built on the east side of Memorial Parkway in front of Food City
  • Retailers will include department stores, home improvement, grocery, health + fitness centers, restaurants, small shops and more
  • The first phase of construction is expected to begin in spring 2026 with initial store openings following in 2027
  • Phase II will be a retail development on the north side of Northern Bypass at Memorial Parkway
