Snoop Dogg highlights amazing slate of Huntsville concerts in August
Believe it or not, July is almost over and August is creeping up on us. So, it’s not too early to look forward at the slate of Huntsville concerts in August. It’s an impressive slate, for sure.
From Snoop Dogg to James Taylor to Umphrey’s McGee, we have some awesome Huntsville concerts coming up in August. Here’s what to expect:
Jelly Roll – Aug. 1
Jelly Roll’s popularity keeps growing and his blends of old-school rap, classic rock, country and soul music have attracted a following that includes a wide range of music lovers. Don;t miss this show!

Snoop Dogg – Aug. 15
Snoop Dogg has for the last three decades been about as iconic a figure in the hip-hop scene as there is, and his popularity has transcended genres, generations and even industries — in addition to his success as a rapper, he is also a producer, an actor, a businessman and an all-around media icon.
This tour celebrates the 30th anniversary of his album “Doggystyle,” and he will play the album in its entirety (along with other hits).

The Smashing Pumpkins – Aug. 17
One of the 90s most influential and ground-breaking bands is on tour this summer and will stop at the Rocket City along the way. The Smashing Pumpkins play the Orion August 15.

James Taylor – Aug. 22
Folk music legend and singer/songwriter extraordinaire James Taylor has been making incredible music for more than 5 decades, and he was originally scheduled to play Huntsville June 20, but has rescheduled for Aug. 22.

Umphrey’s McGee – Aug. 24
Don’t miss American jam band Umphrey’s McGee rock the Mars Music Hall. The band experiments with many musical styles, including rock, metal, funk, jazz, blues, reggae, electronic, bluegrass, country, and folk.

Billy Strings – Aug. 25-26
This Grammy-winning bluegrass artist will play two shows in Huntsville, so hopefully if you cannot make one of them, you csan make the other. Or, why not catch both nights?

Doobie Brothers – Aug. 30
I grew up loving the Doobie Brothers, and cannot wait for this show at the Orion. The Doobies are celebrating their 50th anniversary with this Huntsville concert, and I plan to be there.

Switchfoot – Aug. 31
Switchfoot is on their 20th Anniversary Tour, and will make a stop at the Mars Music Hall to close out this incredible month of Huntsville concerts. This should be a fantastic show.
