Snow in Huntsville next week? New forecast says its possible
Reading time: 2 minutes

The first Arctic Blast of the season is on its way to Alabama, and parts of the state –including Madison County–could see some snow flurries next week.
Early forecasts for Monday and Tuesday suggest some areas will have lows in the 20s and precipitation is certainly possible. That means snow flurries are in the mix, but don’t fret. Nothing is going to stick.
Forecasts point to freezing temps in North Alabama

The Alabama Emergency Management Agency warns of freezing temperatures beginning Sunday evening, and that “a few snow flurries are even possible.”
According to WAAY morning Meteorologist Grace Anello, we will see the coldest mornings we have seen so far this season next week, with temperatures in the low 20s at some points.
This means folks here in the Rocket City need to take freeze precautions.
“Change the AC to heat, throw a few blankets on the bed and make sure you’ve got your coat and gloves handy because you’ll need them. I always tell people to think of the ‘our Ps: Protect your plants, pipes, people and–of course–pets.”
Grace Anello, WAAY Morning Meteorologist
To elaborate:
- People: Limit time outside, be prepared for power outages and make sure to check on any elderly or other vulnerable friends + family during the freeze.
- Pets: Keep pets inside as much as possible and limit their time outside. Keep them bundled up + dry!
- Pipes: Insulate your pipes if you can + make sure to open your sink cabinets to expose the pipes to heated air. And don’t forget to disconnect your hoses + turn off any sprinklers!
- Plants: Cover plants before the freeze begins to ensure they will keep some heat. Make sure you know your plants’ temperature thresholds
