The latest talk of town: Southside Cocktail Club, the vintage-inspired bar and the newest addition to downtown Huntsville. Located on the same street as The Martin and Whiskey Bottom Saloon, this spot is promising to be the next popular “third space” for evenings downtown.

Vintage relics, snacks, drinks + more

There are lots of vintage relics to spot from retro signage to the baseball card-covered bathroom. (Elizabeth Hobbs / Hville Blast)

We originally discovered this spot under construction back in December, and its opening has been much anticipated. Just over a month later, I’m seeing Southside mirror selfies all over social media since their official opening last Friday, January 16.

We took a peek inside over the weekend, and here are the highlights to get excited for:

🍸High-end cocktails + elevated light bites with a casual yet fancy vibe
🎳Vintage decor, like a bar top made from an old bowling alley + lots of retro signage
🪑Plenty of cozy bar + booth seating
🎯Fun social games like darts
🎥Projector wall playing movie clips

👀 Pro tips:

👉Arrive hungry, because their menu features snacks, salads + sandwiches from a James Beard + Food & Wine-recognized chef in Nashville. (My mouth is drooling thinking about the chocolate chip cookie with earl grey oat milk I saw teased on someone’s Instagram story yesterday 🤤)

👉No reservations needed! Just order at the bar + find your seat.

👉Make sure to check out the bathroom for a cool photo-opp with baseball card-covered walls.

👉Keep your eye out for all the vintage Huntsville-themed signage and items.

The background: The new cocktail club is owned by 2 Huntsville natives—co-owner Scott worked at Cotton Row 10 years ago before bartending in New York + New Orleans. Alongside his business partner, he is bringing an elevated experience to his hometown inspired by his bartending career.
