From July 3-7, the Von Braun Center will be used as the location of the 2024 table tennis national championship. Before that, the Athletic Club Alabama Complex will host over 100 of the top junior contenders from around the world.

“We welcome all of the participants from around the world coming to Huntsville to compete and represent their country. We look forward to crowning a new set of national champions and providing them a memorable championship experience in our Downtown.”

Tommy Battle, mayor of Huntsville

For the past two years, the table tennis national championship was hosted in Fort Worth, Texas. This year, this event will take place in Huntsville just before contenders move on to represent the USA in Paris for the Olympics.

Local impact of these championships

These two events back-to-back are forecasted to have over a $2 million economic impact as more than 3,000 rooms are booked during Independence Day weekend.

This is an exciting opportunity for Huntsville’s athletic community to grow in notoriety. What better of a time to host a national championship than Independence Day week?
