Tangled String Music + Arts Festival is back—at a new location
Reading time: 3 minutes

One of Huntsville’s popular annual music festivals is back for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, but is changing venues this year. The Tangled String Music & Arts Festival, originally scheduled at Lowe Mill, will now take place at John Hunt Park.
The 2-day festival is scheduled for October 3-4. Here’s more info:
The 7th Tangled String Music & Arts Festival set for October

To get this out of the way, we do know that the South Star Festival–the 2-day festival held last fall at John Hunt Park– is not returning this year. Therefore, music lovers here in the Rocket City and beyond may worry that they won’t get their “music festival fix” this year. Not to worry.
The City of Huntsville’s Music Office has partnered with Tangled String Studios to make the 7th edition of the festival larger and more widespread. This is apparent from the lineup, which includes bands from all over the state and beyond. The festival includes two stages and more than a dozen bands.
Festival-goers can expect:
- A music lineup full of bluegrass, alt-rock and Americana
- An immersive arts and crafts fair experience
- Curated vibes with more room to dance and explore
- Some exciting new programming elements to be announced soon.
First, here are the schedule details:
- When: October 3-4
- Where: John Hunt Park’s festival field (adjacent to the Sand Volleyball Complex)
- Cost: October 3 only: $58; October 4 only: $68; Weekend pass: $109; VIP weekend pass: $159
