New Tennessee River Greenway addition now completes South Huntsville Greenway Loop

The City of Huntsville’s vision of connecting its greenways through South Huntsville has come to fruition, as the city celebrated the opening of the latest addition to its Tennessee River Greenway, which now completes the South Huntsville Greenway Loop.
Construction on the 1.5-mile addition began in September 2025 and extends from Redstone Road to Green Cove Road.

What is the South Huntsville Greenway Loop?
The South Huntsville Loop project is a network of greenways that completes a continuous 14.7-mile loop in South Huntsville. The loop includes sections of the Aldridge Creek Greenway and connects residents and visitors to Huntsville landmarks and recreation amenities such as Ditto Landing and the Tennessee River.
The greenways feature natural landscapes and allow for a variety of recreation opportunities like leisurely walks, runs and cycling.
