City and community leaders cut the ribbon Tuesday, September 22, for the new 103,000-square-foot Decatur Recreation Center at 270 Beltline Road SW.

The $52 million facility has been under construction since March of 2025.

Now officially open, the rec center offers a variety of amenities, such as:

  • Four indoor basketball/volleyball courts
  • An elevated walking track
  • 10-lane competition pool
  • Fitness areas
  • Multipurpose rooms
  • Locker rooms
  • Administrative offices
  • A concession area

Basic membership and general access to the facility is free, but different tiers of membership are also available.
