Emma scrolled through Pinterest boards and TikTok posts for inspiration and created the ideal home office. Then, she decided it just wasn’t working for her.
Read on to learn how this Huntsville newcomer found the perfect local spot to beat the remote work blues.
Meet Emma
Originally from Birmingham, Emma moved to Auburn for college, where she was a majorette and met her husband. They got married in April and moved from Auburn to the Huntsville area after her husband accepted a job with Radiance Technologies.
They live in Madison with their clingy but adorable orange cat and love trying new restaurants around town. Their current go-to is The Poppy and Parliament.
Emma currently works remotely for Caravan as a Digital Marketing Manager, specializing in paid social media campaigns and Google ads.
Finding community through remote work
Although Emma occasionally travels for work, her remote setup doesn’t give her much in-person time. With this in mind, she tried to create a top-notch home office to keep her inspired and productive. But after a while, she started to feel like something was missing.
“I tried to make my home office as cozy as possible, but I quickly realized I’m not built to work fully remote. I need human interaction, and I like being around people.
I came across Coin Coworking through a Hville Blast post, and I thought the space looked so cool.
I don’t work at Coin every single day, but it’s been the perfect way to break up my week and do something different.”

Along with getting to be around other remote workers and small business owners at Coin, Emma has loved the sense of routine that going into an office grants her:
“It’s been really good for me to get to feel like a human when I leave the house. Earlier this week, I decided to go to Coin after working at home for a couple of days, and during my commute, I thought, ‘Man, I just feel so much better about my day and life. I put on work clothes and did my makeup today.”

Loving the amenities at Coin
Emma also has loved the great amenities Coin offers. Unlike going to work at a coffee shop, the coffee is free (but just as good!), and she has access to a full-scale kitchen, snacks and more.
“The break room is huge for me. That’s what differentiates it from a coffee shop—having the microwave and oven to heat my food up, and a fridge to store my packed lunch and snacks.”
