The new center will become a hub for Space Camp activities, including check-in, graduations and classroom space for extended educational areas.
About the new Space Camp Operations Center

- A multi-purpose auditorium that is one of the largest in North Alabama
- 2 collaboration areas
- 6 new check-in spaces
- A new U.S. Cyber Camp Mission Control area, where program attendees will deep dive into their mission completion simulations
- 10 new classroom spaces
- In addition to providing a new and diverse space for program trainees, the 40,600 square foot building will also house a state of the art meeting center that can be rented out by the public.
“It is incredible to see our vision of taking Space Camp programs to a new level become a reality. We are incredibly grateful to Governor Ivey and partners like Boeing who are investing in our mission to inspire the next generation of STEM workforce. This facility is a milestone that will enhance the Space Camp experience in countless ways.”Dr. Kimberly Robinson, CEO and Executive Director of the US Space and Rocket Center
