UNA reveals new flag football signing class for inaugural season

The University of North Alabama announced this week it has signed the first 10 players for the newly-launched UNA women’s flag football program.

UNA announced the addition of flag football and men’s and women’s track last fall, with 2026 being the inaugural season.

UNA’s interim flag football coach, Anna Milwee Hovater,  was tasked with putting together the program’s first signing class of 10 players. Eight of the 10 signees are in-state products, while two played in Georgia:

Julia Rose was named Ms. Football by the Alabama Sports Writers Association. She threw for 7,100 yards and for 122 touchdowns as the Rebels advanced to the state championship game where they fell to unbeaten Central-Phenix City. In her career, she threw for more than 12,000 yards and led Vestavia Hills to a 68-6 record in four seasons with a 28-2 finish in 2025.
