In the YouTube video released after his Huntsville visit, Cole documents the campus energy and takes a moment to show love to the city itself.

“Shout out to Huntsville, man, y’all are twins. We’re like sister cities.”

He’s talking about Fayetteville, North Carolina, his hometown.

J. Cole’s Alabama A&M stop is a part of a bigger narrative building ahead of The Fall Off.

The crowd took over

As part of The Fall Off tour, Cole and his team pass out $1 CDs of his newly released album straight from the trunk of his Honda Civic.

He paused to film a TikTok with a student content creator and listened as students shared how his music shaped them. As word spread across campus, the crowd grew fast — athletes, student ambassadors, friend groups, everybody.

When he finally pulls away, the video shows students running after the car, following it down the road in pure excitement.

More than a pop-up

Beyond the campus energy, the video gives more insight into where Cole is mentally in this season of his career.

At one point, he reflects on the project ahead, saying,

“This was my dream, my goal — to make something at this stage that feels like a debut.”

And for one afternoon in Huntsville, it felt just like that!
