Valentina’s Pizzeria may be off the beaten path on the map, but they’ve certainly made their mark on the global pizza chart.

Read on to learn about how their General Manager, Camryn Suggs, was the only woman to place in the top four at the prestigious International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas.

The International Pizza Expo has served as an industry-leading event for 39 years. Every year, it takes place in Las Vegas and attracts over nearly 10,000 attendees.

Over the past several years, Valentina’s owner and pizza chef Joe Carlucci has brought home an impressive amount of hardware from the competition. But this year, he’s passed the torch to Camryn Suggs, the restaurant’s General Manager.

Suggs went head-to-head with esteemed pizza chefs in the traditional division, finishing third in the Southeast region. This made Suggs the only woman to place in the top four among competitors from all of the world.

“This is the fifth year in a row that Valentina’s has placed has placed in the Southeast region.

To compete alongside such talented pizza makers from all of the world was such an amazing experience. This is my second year competing, so placing third in the region is incredible.

I’ll continue to compete and am excited to see what the next competition holds.”
