Well-known Huntsville spot soon to be home to new restaurant

Downtown Huntsville is about to get some new flavors. A sandwich shop called The Local Café—or just The Local—is set to open in mid-November, occupying the space that was formerly home to Domaine South.

About The Local

If you frequent Downtown Huntsville, chances are you’re familiar with Chef Erick Luther’s culinary expertise. Luther is the owner of a few popular Downtown eateries, such as The Standard Social Market and Del Chuco Cocina Y Cantina.

Before opening his restaurants, he worked at other iconic local spots like Pan e Vino and Cotton Row. The Local Café will be the newest addition to the Mercado Group, Chef Erick and his wife’s hospitality company that consists of multiple restaurants and event spaces.

While details on The Local’s menu are still under wraps, I’d be willing to bet that this spot will feature quality ingredients and provide a space where folks can gather, socialize, eat and feel at home.
